“Even THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth WITH YOU, and shall be IN YOU.” (John 14:17)

There are two levels at which we can carry the presence of God. The Holy Spirit can be in you or with you. In 1Corinthians 3:16, the Bible says, “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God DWELLETH IN YOU?” This means the Holy Spirit can dwell in you.

Many Christians walk on this level. This comes as a result of being born-again. At this level, the influence of God is primarily, largely on the individual.

The second level is when the Holy Spirit is with or upon you. Acts 10:38  reads, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was WITH HIIM.” At this level, the Holy Spirit is not only upon you but on your circumstances, situations and your environment. 

All the mighty works Jesus did rested on one foundation; “The presence of God;” God was with Him. The secret behind David’s success in battles was “The presence of God.” “So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts [was] WITH HIM.” (1Chron. 11:9)

You may be tempted to think that David was successful because he was very skilful with the sword. Though David was a great military tactician, his secret was “The presence of God.”
